In The Middle of the Street

You told me to meet you in the city. However, the directions you gave me were no help at all. Which coffee shop on which corner? I don’t like the city. I feel lost and a map won’t help. You’ve always made fun of me (playful?) for living in the small town of Waynesville. It is like heaven to me. There, we have one coffee shop. Avery Pine unlocks the door every morning except Sunday. He knows I want my coffee served with a chocolate donut. I pay him $2.00 in cash. Now, I’m far away from home, in the middle of the street. I time the walk light wrong, and the car is not slowing down.
